David Mestemaker earned his biology degree with honors from the University of Michigan, then moved to Texas and worked as a land man in the oil and gas industry. He put himself through night law school at South Texas College of Law Houston — graduating magna cum laude in 1988, with law review honors and a mock trial championship.
He started his career in insurance defense and Fortune 500 commercial litigation. He saw how corporations fight claims from the inside. Then he switched sides. In the 37 years since, he has tried more than 300 cases to verdict across every level of Texas and federal court. While most personal injury attorneys settle every case, David walks into the courtroom. That reputation changes the negotiation before a trial even starts.
He has represented more than 1,000 clients in mass tort litigation — toxic landfills, chemical spills, industrial fires, and leaking underground storage tanks. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a former adjunct professor of trial advocacy, a CLE speaker for the State Bar and TTLA, and the author of The Bomb Quest, a spy adventure novel.
